The Sora community's essence is deeply rooted in its language. However, in recent times, there has been a gradual erosion of our historical narrative, language, literature, and cultural heritage. These treasures now reside predominantly among intellectuals and language enthusiasts. While conversing in our native tongue, we often rely on other dominant languages of the region, making it challenging to communicate purely in our own language. Even in our communities and villages, languages other than our own are often spoken. A considerable segment of the Sora community communicates in languages other than Sora, leading to concerns about the future vitality of the Sora language.
Over time, various initiatives have been undertaken to rekindle and safeguard Sora culture and traditions. The Sora community possesses its distinct script, Sora Lipi. This script was developed by intellectual and researcher Mangei Gomango, who collaborated with other Sora community members to create Sora Lipi. Their shared dedication to the Sora language inspired the creation of a script that could capture Sora's essence in written form. Noted one our linguist stated, "When a language fades away, the entire community speaking that language faces a void."
Our website is the result of collaboration between Sora community members, linguists, and advocates, all dedicated to broadening the application of the Sora writing system. This platform offers a wealth of information to familiarize visitors with the practical use of the Sora language. Through this website, users can download Sora fonts, compose text in Sora, generate word files, presentations, banners, pamphlets, books, e-books, PDF files, and more. We have also curated a collection of valuable website links related to the Sora language, providing additional articles and resources.

Learning a language demands substantial resources β a teacher, a range of books, and a dictionary to understand vocabulary and word meanings. Similarly, mastering the Sora language presents its own set of challenges, especially for individuals situated far from their home or the region where the language is spoken and taught.
